Oregon vs Arizona

Oregon will challenge Arizona on the road at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Oregon don’t have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy a 9.5-point advantage in the spread.

Oregon came up short against Washington St. last Saturday, falling 20-34. A silver lining for Oregon was the play of Justin Herbert, who accumulated 270 passing yards and punched in 1 rushing TD.

Meanwhile, Arizona and UCLA were almost perfectly matched up, but Arizona suffered an agonizing 30-31 defeat. This makes it the second defeat in a row for Arizona.

Oregon didn’t have too much trouble with Arizona the last time the two teams met as they won 48-28. The rematch might be a little tougher for Oregon since the team won’t have home-field advantage. We’ll see if the change in venue makes a difference.

Notre Dame vs Navy

Ian Book and his stellar play at quarterback has completely transformed the No. 3 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish to a College Football Playoff contender into a legitimate National Championship contender. Head coach Brian Kelly takes his team on the road as they take on the struggling Navy Midshipmen (2-5) at SDCCU Stadium on Saturday night.

The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS. If you don’t have cable or can’t get to a TV, you can still watch a live stream of the game (or DVR it) on your computer, phone or streaming device by signing up for one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

If you have Amazon Prime or start a free 30-day trial of Amazon Prime, you can watch all CBS content (both live and on-demand) via the CBS Amazon Channel, which also comes with a 7-day free trial.

Once you’re signed up for both Amazon Prime and the CBS channel, you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the Amazon website, or you can watch on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Amazon Video app.

FuboTV

CBS (live in most markets) is included in FuboTV’s main package, which includes 85 total channels and is largely tailored towards sports fans. You can sign up for a free 7-day trial right here, and you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the FuboTV website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the FuboTV app.

If you can’t watch live, FuboTV comes with 30 hours of Cloud DVR (with the ability to upgrade to 500 hours), as well as a handy “72-Hour Lookback” feature, which will allow you to watch the game on-demand up to three days after it airs even if you forgot to record it.

Hulu With Live TV:

In addition to their extensive Netflix-like streaming library, Hulu now also offers a bundle of 50-plus live TV channels, including CBS (live in most markets). You can sign up for “Hulu with Live TV” right here, and you can then watch a live stream of the game on your computer via the Hulu website, or on your phone, tablet or streaming device via the Hulu app.

If you can’t watch live, “Hulu with Live TV” also comes with 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage (with the ability to upgrade to “Enhanced Cloud DVR,” which gives you 200 hours of DVR space and the ability to fast forward through commercials).

Since relieving senior quarter Brandon Wimbush, Book has completed 75% of his passes for 1,151 yards, 11 touchdowns and three interceptions — all coming in each of Notre Dame’s past two contests. Book has to protect the football better to avoid potential letdowns.

Notre Dame had a bye last week, and are set to play for the first time since a narrow 19-14 win against Pittsburgh on October 13. The Fighting Irish have gotten themselves into trouble not against teams on equal footing — Michigan, Stanford and Virginia Tech — but against notably inferior competition. Notre Dame has struggled the most this season in games against Vanderbilt and Pitt, each coming down to five points.

The Midshipmen possess one of the more unique offensive styles in college football. Like Georgia Tech, they are ground-and-pound heavy, averaging 310.1 of their 388.4 total yards per game, and Kelly told reporters this week he is well aware of that.

Navy, however, since a 2-1 start has lost four consecutive games, although the offense put up 36 points in a 49-36 loss last week against Houston. This is the 92nd all-time meeting between the two programs. Notre Dame holds a commanding 77-13-1 edge in the series.

World Series 2018

The Boston Red Sox had a dry spell of 86 years between World Seriestitles when they finally won in 2004, sweeping the St. Louis Cardinals and never trailing in the four-game series.

That 2004 triumph came after a series of heartbreaking losses in the Fall Classic. They had lost a pair of heartbreaking seven-game World Series decisions to the Cardinals in 1946 and 1967, and Boston dropped perhaps the most famous World Series when they fell in seven games to the Cincinnati Reds in 1975.

MLB World Series 2018 Live Streaming

That Cincinnati team is considered one of the sport’s all-time great teams, as the team from the Queen City featured catcher Johnny Bench, second baseman Joe Morgan, hit king Pete Rose, RBI boss Tony Perez and superb outfielder Ken Griffey Sr.

That series featured Carlton Fisk’s famous game-winning home run in the 12th inning of Game 6 and it took a ninth-inning bloop single in the seventh game by Morgan to give the Reds the winning margin.

While the Sox could hold their heads up high after putting up a battle against Sparky Anderson’s team, the 1986 World Series loss to the New York Mets was the most painful of all. Boston held a 3-2 series lead and were two runs ahead in the bottom of the 10th with two outs and nobody on base, but the Mets came back to win that game and take the seventh game in come-from-behind fashion.

But since that brutal defeat, the World Series has been their personal playground. In addition to their ’04 sweep of the Cardinals, they swept the Colorado Rockies in 2007 and beat St. Louis again in six games in 2013.

With a 2-0 series lead against the Los Angeles Dodgers, they are 14-2 in World Series games since 2004.

Boston is going to try to stretch that record to 15-2 on Friday when they confront the Dodgers in Los Angeles. The first pitch is scheduled for 8:09 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised by Fox.

The Red Sox are 5-0 on the road in this postseason, having won two games at Yankee Stadium and three at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

Playing on the road has agreed with Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Xander Bogaerts, Andrew Benintendi and ALCS MVP Jackie Bradley Jr. Martinez has a sore ankle from an awkward turn around second base in Game 1, and his status has not been determined.

The Dodgers are hoping the change in venue can help them turn things around in the series. While the Red Sox have excelled at getting a clutch two-out hit, Los Angeles manager Dave Roberts has seen his team struggle in that area.

The Red Sox will send right-hander Rick Porcello to the mound to try to keep the Dodgers bats quiet, but he may have a more difficult time than southpaw David Price did in Game 2. The Dodgers are going to use their left-handed bats to try to get their power game going.

The Dodgers had seven batters with 21 or more home runs in the regular season, and they were led by Max Muncy’s 35. Muncy will be in the lineupagainst Porcello, and so will Cody Bellinger, who homered in Game 7 of the National League Championship Series and won the MVP award.

The Dodgers will counter with hard-throwing Walker Buehler, who was on the mound in Milwaukee in Game 7 and was quite effective. While holding down the Brewers was a noteworthy achievement, the Red Sox are the highest scoring team in baseball.

The Sox are prohibitive -650 favorites to win the World Series at this point, while the Dodgers are +450 underdogs, per OddsShark. Those backing the Red Sox have to risk $650 to win $100, while Dodgers backers wager $100 to earn a profit of $450.

However, the Dodgers are -160 favorites in Game 3, while the Red Sox are +135 underdogs.

The 2018 World Series continues on Saturday night, with the Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Boston Red Sox for the second consecutive night in the best-of-seven series. The Dodgers won in dramatic fashion in an 18-inning Game 3 and now have a chance to even things up at two games a piece on Saturday. As such, baseball’s postseason cannot end until at least Sunday.

Nathan Eovaldi was originally expected to start for Boston. He pitched in relief again in Game 3, the third time in three games this series, which rules him out. Instead, the Red Sox figure to roll with Drew Pomeranz or Chris Sale on short rest. They were the only pitchers to not throw in Game 3. Rich Hill is expected to go for the Dodgers. He posted a 3.66 ERA during the year. He’s permitted three runs in 10-plus postseason innings.

Red Sox: The Red Sox can move one win away from a championship if they get the victory here. The key could be who the Red Sox opt to start — Pomeranz or Sale. The latter would be the more aggressive play, but the Red Sox can afford to play it safe knowing they’ll be going back to Boston with a chance to win it all if need be.

Dodgers: It’s simple: a win makes it a best-of-three series. A loss and the Dodgers will be facing elimination the rest of the way.

We have the Red Sox winning the World Series. That established, we’re going to pick the Dodgers because we don’t trust Pomeranz and we aren’t sure we trust short-rest Sale given his velocity issues since coming back from the DL.

Washington State vs Stanford

Stanford beat Washington State eight times in a row into 2016, but the Cougars are 2-0 straight up over the last two meetings and 3-0 against the spread over the last three.

In a big game out in the Pac-12 North, Washington State clashes with the Cardinal on Saturday night out on The Farm.

Check out the OddsShark podcast on iTunes or Spotify or at OddsShark.libsyn.com for more odds information, betting picks and a breakdown of this week’s top sports betting news.

The Cougars just reached 6-1 SU and a perfect 7-0 ATS on the season with a 34-20 victory over Oregon last week.

Washington State vs Stanford Football Game

Washington State pounced out to a 27-0 halftime lead on the Ducks, allowed Oregon to get within 27-20 midway through the fourth quarter but immediately reapplied the gas and drove 75 yards to an insurance touchdown, securing the win and the money as three-point favorites.

The Cougars outgained the Ducks 400-335, converted 10-of-15 on third-down and fourth-down situations and held a 33/27 edge in time of possession. Also, the Washington State defense held Oregon to just 39 yards of offense in the first half.

The Cougars have now outgained each of their seven opponents this season—even USC in the game they lost.

At 3-1 in conference play, Washington State trails first-place Washington by a half-game in the Pac-12 North, and the Cougars get the Huskies in Pullman for the Apple Cup in the season finale.

The Cardinal spotted the Sun Devils an early field goal, led 6-3 at the half, then broke a 6-6 tie by driving 75 and 80 yards to touchdowns on consecutive possessions and held on from there for the win and the cover as two-point favorites.

Stanford held a 24-20 edge in first downs, ground out a 38/22 advantage in time of possession and won the turnover battle 3-0, creating a plus-six point differential, enough for the money.

At 3-1 in conference play, the Cardinal are tied with Washington State at a half-game back of first-place Washington. Stanford gets its shot at the Huskies next week.

Cardinal running back Bryce Love is still hampered by injuries; last week he carried the ball 11 times for just 21 yards before limping off the field in the third quarter, and Stanford managed just 127 yards on the ground.

NC State Football: Wolfplack look to bounce back vs Syracuse

NC State vs Syracuse

So… NC State didn’t look great last week. The Wolfpack faced their first real test last week against Clemson on the road and fell incredibly short in a 41-7 loss to the Tigers. The Wolfpack looked good against Travis Etienne outside of the redzone as the Heisman candidate accounted for 39 yards on 15 carries. Unfortunately, Etienne picked up the slack in the redzone however with three punch in touchdowns throughout the game. The secondary also gave up 309 yards through the air to Trevor Lawrence and could not find an answer for Tee Higgins who caught eight passes for 119 yards for a score.

Offensively, Ryan Finley completed 21 of his 34 passes for a measly 156 yards which averages out to 4.6 yards per attempt. In his defense, there were several big plays that could have went the other way had his receivers not dropped the ball in space. The ground game couldn’t get much going either against Clemson’s front seven outside of a 20 yards touchdown run from Reggie Gallaspy II late in the game.

NC State vs Syracuse Football Free Signup

Syracuse almost dropped the ball last week until a late game surge from Tommy Devito pushed them past the North Carolina Tarheels at home in double overtime. Devito came in after Dungey had trouble for most of the game and threw three touchdown passes in his 11 completions. The offense took on a new life. As is stands now, Eric Dungey is still the starting quarterback for the Syracuse Orange but Tommy Devito is expected to see time against the North Carolina State Wolfpack this week and if he has a big showing then Dino Babers could have an interesting decision to make going forward.

Defensively, Syracuse is not the best and that was certainly seen last week when the defense gave up 17 points in the third quarter to blow a two-touchdown lead. Syracuse is giving up an average of 236 passing yards per game which is 84th in the nation. The Orange need to improve in pass defense going into the game if they expect to come out on top at home against a ranked ACC opponent.

NC State needs to make some key stops and keep scoring. The one real advantage that NC State has over Syracuse is that the Wolfpack actually have a solid defensive front. After losing almost everyone on that side of the ball, the Pack has developed into the 51st ranked total defense in all of college football and one or two stops in a game that reaks of a shootout could do wonders for NC State later in the game. Also, the key drops that this great receiving corps had last week against Clemson can’t happen in this matchup because every point will count when the clock strikes zero.

Cuse has a couple of objectives that they need to meet before the end of the game. Whether it’s Eric Dungey or Tommy Devito, one of these quarterbacks needs to be able to score early and often against the Wolfpack. The Pack run defense is the second-best statistically in the conference to Florida State of all teams and Syracuse will need to find some way to be effective on the ground to open things up in the passing game. Also, Syracuse’s defensive unit ranks 91st nationally in total defense and I’m not sure that they can make the key stops to win this one, prove me wrong and you can pull off the upset in the end.

Georgia vs Florida

There is a three-way tie atop the SEC East between the No. 7 ranked Georgia Bulldogs (6-1), No. 9 ranked Florida Gators (6-1) and No. 12 ranked Kentucky Wildcats (6-1). After this traditional, highly-anticipated matchup on Saturday afternoon between the Bulldogs and Gators, there could be two, and possibly one.

The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on CBS. If you don’t have cable or can’t get to a TV, you can still watch a live stream of the game (or DVR it) on your computer, phone or streaming device by signing up for one of the following cable-free, live-TV streaming services:

Head coach Kirby Smart and Georgia had been on cruise control for most of the season until a disastrous 36-16 loss against No. 5 LSU two weeks ago in Baton Rouge. Luckily, the Bulldogs had their bye the following week as a way of splitting up the toughest portion of their schedule.

Smart understands the gameplan for tackling the Gators’ talented defense starts up front.

But I don’t know if you honestly know that until you get out there and play another game, because you can only see so much at practice. I certainly hope the work we put in pays dividends in the areas that we focused on.”

Florida, unlike Georgia, bested LSU at home earlier this season. The Gators’ only loss in 2018 has come at the hands — paws — of the Wildcats, which was the first game on their SEC slate.

Jacobs vs Derevyanchenko

Jacobs vs Derevyanchenko

Daniel Jacobs likely won’t have an easy task winning a middleweight title on Saturday. He failed in his attempt in March 2017 when he lost a close decision to Gennady Golovkin, but now, after knocking off two undefeated, albeit underwhelming, fighters in the months since then, Golovkin will battle Sergiy Derevyanchenko on HBO.

Derevyanchenko (12-0, 10 KOs) is also undefeated and relatively unknown to anybody who’s not a hardcore boxing fan. But he’s almost certainly more dangerous than Jacobs’ last two opponents, Luis Arias and Maciej Sulecki, who Jacobs dispatched with relative ease.

On Saturday, the two will battle for a vacant belt, and though Jacobs (34-2, 29 KOs) is a slight betting favorite—he’s at -185 while Derevyanchenko is +150—this fight is basically seen as a toss-up.

Jacobs vs Derevyanchenko Boxing Full Fight Live

“Jacobs-Derevyanchenko’s as good a middleweight title fight as you could make right now, a 50/50 type of fight, and as Eddie [Hearn, Jacobs’ promoter] pointed out, the winner is going to be in the middle of a red-hot division,” promoter Lou DiBella said.

1) Derevyanchenko’s experience makes him dangerous: Derevyanchenko continues the trend of older Ukrainian fighters making big waves in the professional ranks after long successful amateur careers. Vasiliy Lomachenko is the most famous fighter to do this, along with Oleksandr Usyk and Oleksandr Gvozdyk. But Derevyanchenko has an opportunity to be the next to win a world title. The 32-year-old already beat solid opponents in Sam Soliman and Tureano Johnson after an amateur career that included an Olympics appearance and a bronze medal at the World Championships. He believes that experience gives him a big plus vs. Jacobs. “I have a huge amateur background,” Derevyanchenko said. “His is not anything close to mine, so that would be the advantage.”

2) These fighters know each other quite well: Jacobs and Derevyanchenko are apparently on friendly terms, and they’ve spent plenty of time sparring with each other. According to Jacobs, the two sparred for more than 300 rounds. That won’t necessarily make for a more compelling fight, but it is a fascinating subplot. “Those sparring sessions were competitive and this is why I know that this fight will be even more competitive because a sparring session is totally different from a professional boxing match,” Jacobs said. “There’s more dangers, there’s more things to be aware of, and there’s not an IBF title on the line when you’re in there sparring with head gear and 16-ounce gloves on, too. So, it just makes the stakes higher and it just makes for an even better fight. This is why I’m really, really happy that I have this opportunity with such a talented guy.”

3) The winner could hit the jackpot: The middleweight division is stacked, especially at the top with Canelo Alvarez, Gennady Golovkin and Jermall Charlo all jockeying to be the No. 1 fighter. The winner of this fight could face any of those opponents, especially if Alvarez doesn’t meet Golovkin in 2019 for the third time. Jacobs has talked about wanting another crack at Golovkin, and it seems likely that he and Alvarez could agree to a mega-money fight on the DAZN streaming service. And don’t forget about Demetrius Andrade, who won a 160-pound belt in an impressive performance last week. “It is a time,” Jacobs said, “to get a middleweight belt and to campaign for some of these bigger and better fights.”

Errol Spence vs. Mikey Garcia: After months of rumors and callouts, it sounds like welterweight star Errol Spence might really be gearing up to fight lightweight standout Mikey Garcia.

According to RingTV.com, the two are negotiating a deal for a bout that would be at the 147-pound welterweight limit.

Garcia (39-0, 30 KOs) is coming off a unified lightweight title victory vs. Robert Easter in July, but he’ll likely be a sizable underdog against Spence (24-0, 21 KOs), who might be even more talented than Garcia and is certainly bigger physically.

Reportedly, the fight would occur on Showtime PPV, marking the third potential PPV bout in three months (along with Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury in December and Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien Broner in January).
